Parade of Power 2009
Friday 4th September

The 2009 Parade of Power with Wellingborough Town Centre Partnership was once again a huge success. Thousands of onlookers flocked to the streets to see a variety of street, rod and race vehicles parade around the one way system. There was everything from vintage hot rods and muscle cars, to trikes, bikes, drift cars and full on drag cars including Santa Pod’s 2 Seater dragster and John Morris is his Pro ET Animal Magic Ford Probe. All of the vehicles that took part put on a great display, especially in the ever popular burnout area where the crowd was near full to bursting point.

Once the parade was over a selection of the vehicles descended on the market square where the crowds could get up close and personal with them and also chat to the drivers. Santa Pod's own Top Fuel Dragster, Junior Dragster, Junior Funny Car and the Fireforce 3 Jet Car were also on display throughout the evening and there was a free poster giveaway with signatures available from Martin Hill, Drew Thornton and John Spuffard. The evening was topped off with a fantastic performance from the band Nexus which the crowd loved and really ended the event on a high.
